Sadly, the Ham\Nye debate showed that an Evidentialist Apologetic cannot find enough common ground to provide a reasonable basis to interpret the world around us.

Truth is actively suppressed by those who oppose God. Bill Nye regularly changed science to fit his views and he was not called out on it. Before tonight, who has taught that matter increases in complexity due to heat from the sun? Bill, are you telling me that if I stick a rock in the sun it is going to walk away? How long will that take? The law of entropy teaches that order and complexity is breaking down, but according to Bill Nye, now it means that outside heat sources will make matter rejuvenate and become more complex. The sun not only provides energy, but now the sun regenerates matter and creates complexity.

Bill made this assertion multiple times and got away with it. If anything, Bill should not have been allowed to change scientific law (i.e. 2nd law of thermodynamics). And if he does, he should be called out on it. If you are going to keep changing the rules, does that not beg the question about the reliability of your science? Doesn’t an infinite number of rule changes prove the emptiness of a position? Yet Bill wore science’s adaptability as a badge of honor.

Ken may have been ready for this discussion scientifically, but he wasn't prepared apologetically. Ken was not ready to defend a Literal/Historical/Grammatical hermeneutic, and therefore was easily characterized as being an arbitrary literalist. I am thrilled for men like Ken who stand up for the faith. He is still a hero to me as he strengthens my faith through presenting the truth. With that being said, ideologies and speculations raised up against the knowledge of God are torn down by the preaching of the truth. We need more men to jump into this discussion. This was a theological debate argued by scientists. It is time for pastors to speak up. I hope this turns out for the greater purpose of empowering Christians to make a defense.

Thanks Ken Ham, for taking a stand. Thanks for leading the way. Now I pray God gives us the strength to walk in these footsteps, and I pray we are ready when the day comes to make a defense.
